Community Service
Aside from providing support to newcomers and expats to the Philippines, another one of AWCP's top priorities is service to the community. We are always striving to find new ways we can benefit this wonderful community we call home, be it through fundraising, donations, or other projects. Have a look at our current projects, and look out for ones to come!
Partnerships with local organizations
Throughout the year, we collect various goods such as school supplies, toiletries, toys, canned food, etc. and donate them to organizations that support the wellbeing of women and children. Some of the organizations we've worked with include Upskills+ Foundation, CRIBS Foundation, Kaibigan Outreach Foundation, Bukas Palad Foundation of the Philippines, and the International Care Ministries.
Blood donations
While hospitals in the Philippines do have safely screened, stored blood, and strictly adhere to the WHO standards, hospitals do not "bank" all eight blood types. Therefore, when a hospitalized patient needs a blood transfusion of any type, it falls to the resources of the patient and their family to find a healthy willing friend as a donor with a matching blood type.
